Suomi.fi e-Authorizations is a service that enables an organisation to verify the mandates of a person or a company to act online on behalf of another person or a company they represent.
When verifying the mandates, the organisation's e-service enquiries the e-Authorizations service in order to determine whether the party is entitled to act on behalf of another party. The e-Authorizations service retrieves the data from the basic data registers and/or the authorisation register and returns the response in real time to the e-service.
Suomi.fi e-Authorizations is available for end users and customer organisations 24/7/365 without disruptions. New organisations can be connected to Suomi.fi e-Authorizations without it causing any harm to the customer organisations that have joined earlier.
The Digital and Population Data Services Agency is responsible for providing a scalable service solution in which increasing volumes do not affect the availability of the service. The service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.

The limitations and prerequisites of the usage of the service
Public administration and private sector actors can connect to and use the e-Authorizations service free of charge. However, the customer organisation will bear all costs resulting from the implementation of the service. Those costs can result from the technical integration, changes in user interface, creating the transaction service specific instructions and administrating the implement project.
Service provider has to fill in the announcement for joining i.e. user permit application and accept the terms and conditions for Suomi.fi e-Authorizations before the implementation. Before using the e-Authorizations service, the organisation must have a strong identification service in use.
Service provider has to create a connection to e- Authorizations service either via Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer or via Web API interface i.e. the public internet and add the possibility to act on behalf of another to its services. The end users must be introduced to the new operative process and the functionalities of the program.
Implementation of the service
Implementing the Suomi.fi e-Authorizations service requires that you connect to the e-Authorizations service interface. The connection can be made either via the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer (Security Server interface) or the public Internet (Web API).
The most suitable connection method for the e-service is selected on the basis of use cases. The customer organisation builds an interface in its information system in order to send a mandate check query and receive a response message.
